Welcome to the world of whiskey as reviewed by a third-generation New Englander. My qualifications as a sommelier? I know what I like – and the science & pseudo-science of spirits tasting. Tools of the trade: a Glencairn (nosing glass designed for whisky) or the old fashioned rocks tumbler. I review any kind of whiskey: Scotch, Bourbon, Rye, Irish, Canadian, etc. However it’s fun to explore, so you’ll see reviews of other spirits here as well.

I don’t chase limited editions, spending hundreds of dollars on bottles that – in blind taste tests – are little better that their more common cousins. Finally, I have an eye for classic design and art – so as you peruse this website you’ll find some vintage whiskey advertisements that I hope bring a smile to your eyes.

If you’d like to see what’s on our shelf see our photo gallery. And here you can check out our reviews of  bourbonScotch,  Irish whiskey,  Canadian whiskey,  ryes or flavored whiskys.
