This is a massive event with tastings and masterclasses “offering whisky enthusiasts from the novice to the connoisseur the opportunity to explore some of the most prestigious single malt, premium Scotch whiskies and other unique whiskies from around the world. Each TWE event offers a tasting session, masterclasses curated by industry experts, and culinary pairings.” And since it’s in my favorite city in the world, how can I not attend?
This year they will be running shows in Chicago, Washington, D.C., Boston, Seattle, Los Angeles, and Fort Lauderdale. Admission is $135, which covers whisky tastings, culinary bites, and a souvenir tasting glass. There’s a connoisseur level which includes your choice of one of the masterclasses.
The Boston event will offer masterclasses presented by Lew Bryson, Whisky/Beer Author, on “Tasting Whiskey”; Martin C. Duffy, Whisk(e)y Educator from The Glencairn; Ashok Chokalingam will be presenting on the story of Amrut, India’s award winning single malts; and Tom Johnson from the Aroma Academy USA.
